Tarrah & Austin - Oct 4, 2008

I got together with Tarrah & Austin nearly a month ago to make sure that we could take our time getting plenty of shots at several locations. I have another blog entry devoted to it at the following link. Pre Portraits

Their wedding took place on Saturday, October 4th at Harpeth Heights Baptist Church. It was a beautiful ceremony. I shoot a lot of weddings and sure, there are some songs you hear a lot and some traditions that almost everyone does, but I'm always impressed to see uniqueness at weddings and Tarrah and Austin's wedding did not disappoint. Both sets of parents stood up during the ceremony to give their blessing and welcome their new son and daughter into the family. Also, you have to check out the groomsman cake. It has to be my all-time favorite and I've seen some pretty great ones from Nealand Stadium to Dirtbike tracks. Austin is into video production so his cake looks like an old reel-to-reel movie camera!

The bride and groom were very photogenic and since the newlyweds are currently honeymooning in Paris... I would imagine that the great photos will just keep rolling in.

I hope everyone enjoys the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Stay tuned in to the proofing site because Twila Allen's 2nd Perspective shots should be uploaded within the next week.

Matt & Michelle - September 20, 2008

I met Michelle and her bridesmaids at a room in the Opryland Hotel where I photographed them getting ready, then we played with flowers and rose petals on the bed to make some other interesting photos. We threw the petals in the air at least 10 times before I caught a shot without one blocking one of their faces, but in the end we got some really fun stuff. The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Gaylord Springs. The ceremony was held in a shelter on the golf course and it was one of the more packed weddings that I've photographed this year. As crowded as it was, I think at one point every person in the shelter was singing Amazing Grace. It was beautiful and moving. I noticed some golfers stopped playing nearby and just sat in their carts to listen. Though I go way back with Michelle's family, I had met Matt once before for the engagement photos and I have to say that he is an impressive guy. He and Michelle both are so likeable and it is obvious that they are best friends!
