This Modern Station @ the Rutledge in Nashville

Will Witherow, the Bass player for the band This Modern Station, is an old friend of mine so I was pretty excited to photograph them at the Rutledge last night. They have some really great songs. So check out their myspace page. After I grabbed a few shots at sound check, we killed some time next door at a Mexican Restaurant and I got some fun shots of the whole band.

Hannah and Dan ~ July 26

Hannah and Dan were married this past weekend at the Cathedral in Nashville and held their reception at the Global Cafe on Broadway, downtown. Their ceremony was beautiful and their reception was really fun. Hannah originally came to Nashville to be a singer and while the band took a break, she took the stage. She can really sing! I want to use her to sing on some of my recordings! I especially enjoyed photographing the dance floor that night. Check out a small sampling on the slideshow page of my website at www.mattandrews.biz.

Aislinn - Photographs for Modeling Portfolio

The effect in the first image of Aislinn on top of the sand dune here, is not from Photoshop. Try breathing hot air on the end of your lens sometime to fog it up... you might get something cool! Okay, so I'm not very good about protecting my lenses... but the way I drop them at weddings and have them stolen out of my car.... I might as well treat them rough b/c they don't last anyway.

Chuck Reaves - Album Photos

Chuck and I met on Sunday at Centennial park to do some headshots for his new album. We decided to ditch the park, hop in the car and drive around looking for good photo spots. I'm glad we did, b/c it didn't take long to find these two good locations.

Victoria & Chris ~ Wedding at Cheekwood on July 12

I had a blast at Chris and Vicky's wedding this weekend. 4 years ago, I photographed a wedding in which Vicky was a bridesmaid and I had so much fun with that group that I ended up going to the afterparty... When Vicky booked me over a year ago, I told her that if she went with me, I'd have to go to the afterparty again and I did. The wedding itself was amazing and original. As the ceremony began in the Japanese garden at Cheekwood, ominous thunder rolled through the sky and it became very dark for this time of day and as the bride and her father approached all of the wedding party and guests hummed the wedding march. After the ceremony, the bride and groom asked to do more photos so we hiked up to the mansion. Minutes after we arrived and grabbed a few shots, the bottom fell out. There was basically no shelter to be found and we were all completely soaked including the bride! I met so many cool and interesting people at this wedding, but not many brides wouldn't have broken down in tears at this point but Vickie stayed positive, knowing that it would be one of those stories that she would never forget from her wedding day. Also, she looked amazing the rest of the evening. It took her just minutes to recover! The newleyweds live in Korea but before going on a trek through Europe on their honeymoon and then back home, they will hold another wedding ceremony for Chris' family and friends in London.
Cheers to the fun loving couple... May it not rain on their next ceremony!
