Claire & Lydia Parkerson

Claire and Lydia are the twin daughters of my old college roommates, Paul and Mandy. We photographed them at the greenway in Murfreesboro on Saturday. It turned out to be the perfect time of day. The light was fantastic. I dragged Sophie along and it made the shoot more difficult since she kept running into the shot but I couldn't resist letting all the girls have a chance to play.

Camila Santos - Twilight Portraits

Camila's husband has been in Afganistan for the last 3 years and she wanted some beautiful photos to send him so we got together this weekend and fired away as the sun appeared and disappeared at dusk. We trecked up to the capitol building to find a high point while we were downtown and eventually discovered this spot with lots of broken pillars scattered about. What a great location! I'll definitely be shooting there again!

Ashley & James - Engagement Portraits

Ashley and James will be married at Cheekwood on October 10, 2009. We met at the Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show at the Frist Center in February so this shoot has been in the works for a long time. We started out at the zoo and decided to do a few extra shots downtown for a change of scenery. It was great getting to know them and I'm looking forward to the wedding in October!

Jaclyn & Nicholas - Wedding at Cellar One

Jaclyn & Nicholas were married on August 15 at Cellar One in Downtown Nashville. The courtyard they were married in on 1st Avenue overlooked the Riverfront with LP Field as the backdrop. Kick-off began shortly after the ceremony began and at one point everyone had to laugh as we could hear the announcer from across the river "To the 35, to the 20, to the 5" and just then the minister announced "I think we have a touchdown." It was pretty funny and they resumed their vows to the sound of fireworks and loud cheers. I have to commend the wedding party for allowing me to march them all the way up to the city courthouse at the top of 2nd Avenue in order to do their group photos in front of the fountains. We got some amazing shots! It was worth it despite the heat.

Nicholas will be going off to Iraq this Winter and I want to wish him good luck! Also, to take lots of these wedding photos!

Shaun Surgener - Acting Headshots and Portraits

Shaun called me up about building a portfolio for him to use for acting auditions and also to pitch to a few agencies. He'll be a pretty good actor I would imagine. He was very outgoing and comfortable in front of the camera. Also, we ended up doing some shots at the Opryland hotel and when I tried to pose him by this baby grand piano, he started playing "Riders on the Storm" by The Doors and "Thats Just the Way It Is" by Bruce Hornsby.  He is really talented and I couldn't stop thinking how much I wished I'd met someone that was that good at piano while I was trying to put a band together in college!

Obie & Brandi - Cedarvine Manor Wedding

Obie and Brandi were married on August 8th at Cedarvine Manor in Lebanon, Tennessee. The ceremony took place in a beautiful outdoor courtyard on what had to be one of the hottest days of the year. This group didn't let the heat hold them back at all. My assistant at this wedding, Chris Koutras, mentioned that he'd never seen so much fun at a reception! From the first moment I walked into the groomsmen's ready room around 3:00pm, they were already dancing and I knew it was going to be a fun wedding. At one point they had a dollar dance at the reception and it was litterally raining cash. I know we got some fun shots of feet dancing on loads of cash. The evening concluded with an impressive fireworks show which reflected over the pond as the explosions lit up the pier. It was perfect!

Best Wishes to the bride and groom who will be moving to New York City soon. I was sad to hear it b/c I've really enjoyed getting to know them but I'm sure they have a bright future ahead in The Big Apple!

Katie & Jamie Engagement

I met up with Katie & Jamie at Katie's house in Culleoka, TN for our first batch of engagement photos and there were so many fun spots from trampolines, to rope swings to their horse barn! After shooting for about an hour at Katie's, we drove towards Lewisburg for about 15 minutes to Jamie's farm for a 2nd batch of photos. It was amazing!!! There was a beautiful field full of sunflowers in full bloom and also a creek with a bridge for them to hang their feet over.

Jamie; I promise to put you in touch with my cousin's about deer hunting on my family farm! I'm looking forward to the wedding.
