Scott and Becky at Belle Meade Mansion

Becky and Scott were married at Belle Meade Plantation on Friday, October 8th, 2010.  Before the ceremony, I walked to the bridge at the entrance for some shots both above and below the bridge.  I got several versions of the shot with the sun reflecting in the creek and a few cute shots of the kids dropping leaves from the bridge.

The rest of their photos can be viewed through their proof site at the following address.

It was a great afternoon for shooting with natural light!  It was definitely golden hour during my shots with the girls!

By the time the ceremony was over and the formal shots began it was very, very dark but I got a few backlit shots like this one above and I was pretty happy with them!

I really liked the flare I was getting from my cross lighting when I shot without my lens hood. Some of the children were blowing bubbles towards the dance floor during the dances and I like the way the flare mixed with the bubbles in some of the first dance shots!

Lindsay Cheatham Bridal Portraits

I've gotten pretty far behind on my blog postings so the next few entries may be short and sweet.

Lindsay Cheatham's wedding has come and gone but about a week prior to the wedding date of April 18th, we got together at her family farm to do some bridal portraits. She was absolutely beautiful and the shot in the barn that I am uploading is the only fisheye lens bridal portrait that I have thought was worthy enough to make it onto my website. I love it! After shooting at her farm for an hour we decided to do a few shots at Rippavilla Plantation but I couldn't resist doing a few shots on the tank in front of the American Legion Hall on the way to Spring Hill. I thought this shoot was a lot of fun and hope you enjoy the photos.

Tarrah & Austin - Portraits

Tarrah Wilkerson and Austin Pinkstaff will be married on October 4th. They decided that rather than wait to see each other at the ceremony they would knock out their formal bride and groom portraits a month before the wedding. We were able to capture 375 amazing photos. This will enable us to focus on the families and the wedding party on the day of the wedding so that they won't have to miss a minute of their reception.
I enjoyed trekking around Nashville with them and home they love their photos!

Jesse Cook's Bridal Portraits at Cheekwood - Aug 13, 2008

Jesse met me at Cheekwood for photos at 7:00PM on Wednesday evening. You can tell from the photos that it was a race with the sun as it dropped behind the tree line. Our goal was to shoot during magic hour to get natural backlight from the sun to light up Jesse's hair and veil. We were successful but I will upload some of the shots that we got as it got darker since they will look more unusual.

Towards the end of the shoot; we decided to use a strobe and get a shot by the reflecting pool. I sat by the edge to demonstrate a pose for Jesse and I heard a plop.... it was my cell phone. If you need to reach me, send me an e-mail b/c I wasn't able to fish it out.
