Caitlin & Wyatt ~ June 21, 2008 Wedding

Caitlin and Wyatt were married in Columbia, Tennessee in Caitlin's parent's backyard. I've been really looking forward to this wedding because I'm from Columbia and I love running into people I know... plus, Columbians love to party... and I love the party candids! When I pulled up to their house it was a downpour and the thunder shook the house, but Caitlin kept her cool. She was sure the rain would blow over. It did and we got to take advantage of the outdoors which always makes for a more dynamic set of photos. There were a few firsts for me at this wedding but the one that stands out most in my mind is the marriage proposal that took place immediately after the bouquet toss; see attached photo.

Note to wedding guests: I generally work hard to have all of the wedding photos uploaded to the proofing site within 7 to 10 days of the wedding date, but I am going to be hopping on a plane to Florida with my family in a couple of hours so it will probably be 4th of July weekend before the photos are available online. Don't forget to check in because it will be worth it. We got so many fun shots today.
Cheers to the bride and groom that let me shoot 'til my heart was content despite the humidity! Have fun in Jamaica!

Ginger & Justin at Gaylord's Opryland Hotel in Nashville on June 14, 2008

This past weekend, I photographed my first wedding at the Opryland Hotel. I had a blast, the hotel is like a photography amusement park. There are great spots for photos everywhere you turn. It is a wonder we got to the ceremony when I consider how many photos we took before it all started. I wish every wedding venue had a gelato stand! I was able to cool off after some cruch times. The bride and groom were great sports and had a lot of fun with the photography part of the day. Twila Allen assisted me at this wedding and did a beautiful job. You can see some of Twila's photography at www.twilaphoto.smugmug.com.

Sarah & Garry @ Cedarvine Manor on June 1st, 2008

This was a fun wedding to shoot b/c the bride was so brave. She jumped on the bed, got carried around, and she let me talk her into walking out into an itchy field of tall grass just for a few good shots! I was in heaven! I also had the chance to shoot them in front of a big fireworks show at the end of the evening! I'm only about half way finished with touching up their photos so I'll have to upload a fireworks shot in another entry.
Congratulations to Sarah & Garry!

May 30 Frist Friday - Featuring Tony Joe White

The last Friday of each month from May through October, the Frist Center puts on a great big party with food, drinks, and great music. This past Friday, May 30th, the musical guest was Tony Joe White whose blues sound made me want to strut around as I photographed party goers.

I hope the Frist is pleased with the job I did b/c I am dying to be asked to photograph The Dynamites when they perform this Halloween for the final Frist Friday of the season! A Halloween party at the Frist Center with the Dynamites will be a lot of fun to photograph!
