Lisa & Alicia at Spring Hill Battlefield
Lisa & Alicia are both dancers so I had the idea to bring a trampoline up to Spring Hill battlefield since it is such a high point that it would be easy to have lots of sky in the shots as they jumped up and did ballerina poses. I decided to hold off on the trampoline but they could really leap so we ended up getting some pretty fun jump shots anyway. The shot included that looks like Alicia is falling was just a jump that I rotated 90 degrees and it really looks as though she could be falling. The portraits we did came out especially good b/c I was able to get such a great balance between the sunlight in the background and my strobe with the beauty dish in the forground. I love simple, minimal settings like this for portraits!

Matthew & Leah
Matthew Parkerson & Leah Tussell were married on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Cannonsburg in Murfreesboro, TN. The ceremony took place in front of a simple, old, white church. Just behind the guest's chairs was a gazebo which was surrounded by tables for the reception. All of the dancing took place in the giant gazebo. This wedding was a lot of fun to shoot b/c not only am I old friends with the groom and several members of the wedding party, but the cloudy skies made it a really easy to shoot. The lighting was very even and the wedding party and guests were up for just about any ideas that I threw out! I even asked the bride to do a stage diving/ crowd surfing style dive off of a caboose into the groomsman and she did it! I think it turned out great too!

Carolyn & Chris - Reception at Riverwood Mansion
Carolyn & Chris were married in Las Vegas but held a reception for all of their family and friends at Riverwood Mansion in East Nashville. Riverwood is an amazing place for a photographer. Not only for it's mature trees, well manicured garden, it's amazing and antique furniture, its nicely textured paint for light absorbing backgrounds, but also because the have a large pavillion in the back where I was able to aim my lights towards the top and have the light bounce everywhere I needed it... like a giant photographic umbrella.
Ashlee & Brian - Engagement
Ashlee & Brian will be married in September. We got together for their engagement photos on a Sunday at Centennial Park and then we covered a lot of ground from there. We went to the bicentennial mall and when we spotted the fountains I asked them if they wouldn't mind getting wet. They were real sports but we decided to knock out some more shots before they got their hair wet so we went to the walking bridge and came back. Once I got them in the water in their nice clothes... an audience started to gather. They were cheered as they first stepped in and again when I had them kiss as the water drenched them! It was pretty fun from my perspective and while they may have been pretty cold... I think those photos will last for a long time. I probably should have uploaded lots more photos from the fountain b/c they were so much fun but I decided to show more variety.
Lindsay & Zed
Lindsay & Zed were married on April 18th at Elm Springs in Columbia, TN. It was such a beautiful wedding. I wish I could upload more photos to a blog b/c this wedding had it all from amazing weather to the bride and groom exiting on a horse drawn carriage to a great party at the Elk's Lodge.

Lindsay Cheatham Bridal Portraits
I've gotten pretty far behind on my blog postings so the next few entries may be short and sweet.
Lindsay Cheatham's wedding has come and gone but about a week prior to the wedding date of April 18th, we got together at her family farm to do some bridal portraits. She was absolutely beautiful and the shot in the barn that I am uploading is the only fisheye lens bridal portrait that I have thought was worthy enough to make it onto my website. I love it! After shooting at her farm for an hour we decided to do a few shots at Rippavilla Plantation but I couldn't resist doing a few shots on the tank in front of the American Legion Hall on the way to Spring Hill. I thought this shoot was a lot of fun and hope you enjoy the photos.
